I'd like to start keeping bees, not only for the honey harvest, but also to be a keeper of wild elements. Bravely facing down their stings with smoke and bright colors, rescuing them from a ferrel existence, and maybe many years down the road becoming their Queen Bee.
Some friends and I took an introduction to bee keeping class at Stone Barnes which was inspiring - and also kept my busy bee do-it-all tendencies in check. I can't be a bee keeper! Maybe another time in my life, after building my own hive and swarming here and there... but for now I am plenty busy with growing me.
